Random Thoughts...
  • We had six inches of snow on Tuesday and it was magical! I didn't enjoy driving in it, but once I was safely at home I kept going out on the patio to watch it snow. I felt like I was five years old again!
  • Why are there no filters to color correct the terrible printing that mini 2x3 printers produce? You would think there would be a photo app that modified these photos before you printed them through their proprietary app that would compensate for the overexposure or yellow tones or weird reddish photos. At $100, these printers really print terrible photos.
  • Hey Tombow USA, now would be a great time to release some new Twin Tone colors.
  • I'm reading a fascinating book on the diet industry and how so much of the research is fundamentally flawed. I'm becoming more and more convinced that capitalism and big business is ruining us all. I'm not sure what I think about everything in the book yet, but it's given me a lot to think about.
  • I have so many streaming shows I'm behind on and yet I spend all my time watching Poirot mysteries even though I know all the killers and plots. It's just comfort TV for me right now, I guess. Maybe once I'm removing from my next surgery I can catch up on The Crown, Jack Ryan, etc.
  • I'm feeling all sorts of nostalgia lately as I've started going back to the library for real, paper, books. I've grown weary of ebook reading and am embracing holding a book in my hands again. So many of my childhood memories involve the library.
  • Why does everything I buy require I take my time to write a review? It's a simple transaction - I give you money, you give me the product. That's all it needs to be. I don't want to write a review of the toilet paper I just bought and I don't need to tell everyone about my copy paper quality. Just give me what I paid for and we're all good.
  • Just a little heads up to those of you willingly handing over your personal information to web sites and social media - if you aren't paying for it, you're the product. They're making money somehow. And If it's not from you, then they're selling you, your information, your habits, etc. to someone else.
  • I'm considering a digital media fast for 30 days. Not so much to take a break but to decide which services, apps and conveniences I can live without. I also want to get rid of my Bible Girl facebook page and get off Facebook once I've said goodbye to cancer. It's been convenient getting in touch with my family and friends through this medical stuff, but I don't want to waste time on it going forward. And the Facebook group isn't something where people want to connect and communicate. I ask questions, tried bookclubs, etc and they never work. It's just a convenient place to find stuff. And now with this website, I think I can direct people to things without another social media platform to manage. For now, I'm keeping it, but it's going down this year most likely.
  • I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE smart lightbulbs. I'm kinda late to the party here, but they are just the best. I love adjusting this brightness and not having to get up to turn the light off. (Yes, I'm apparently that lazy.) But it will come in so handy once I'm recovering at home so no one has to turn lights on and off for me.

So that's some random stuff. I hope you all have a great weekend!
